SAMSA has partnered with the Saginaw Children’s Zoo to develop a new website for showcasing events and programs. By working closely with the Children’s Zoo team, SAMSA was able to create a new website that addressed issues with the former website and implemented new features just in time for the Arctic Zoo Fest.
The former Saginaw Children’s Zoo website was running on outdated software and suffered malicious attacks, making it increasingly difficult for the website to serve as a hub of information for visitors and interested members of the community. Limited funding for the nonprofit zoo added to the difficulties in creating a new online presence.
The SAMSA team worked closely with the Children’s Zoo in overcoming these challenges. By finding ways to reduce costs, such as having the new website layout designed in-house and creating an affordable payment schedule, SAMSA was able to deliver a new website which was both cost and time-effective.
The updated website has been developed with modern standards and moved to a secure server. By providing Google Analytics and search engine optimization, the Children’s Zoo will be able to better chart web growth and reach out to target demographics. The new website also offers modern accessibility features ensuring that the site is viewable on any device.
Elizabeth Schultz, Saginaw Children’s Zoo Web Administrator said, “Launching a redesigned website that is easier to navigate, whether you’re on your computer at home or a mobile device, was certainly needed. We appreciate all of the help we’ve received through our partnership with SAMSA to make the transition as simple as possible.”
The Arctic Zoo Fest occurs Saturday, February 14, 12-4 pm. Admission is free and details are available at www.saginawzoo.org.
